Week 9
Ending Antibiotics, back on the road, ant attacks and Chiang Rai's famous White Temple.

Last week ended with a visit to the hospital… this week saw the end of the antibiotics and us getting back on the road for the final section of riding from Wang Nuea to Chiang Rai.

The route took us off road and through some interesting remote paths, including several river crossing - the last one was deeper than we expected!

Camping spots were quite easy to find, but one night wehad to relocate at 1am because our tent was overrun by ants. The next night, we found an amazing place by the Pha Khong Cave.

There were a couple of big hill climbs between Wang Neau and Chiang Rai, but the last 50km were slowly sloping downhill, on smooth roads, so was a very easy ride.

We arrived in Chiang Rai at 6pm, just in time to watch the sun set over Chiang Rai's famous 'White Temple’.

Finding a camping spot in the city is always a little harder, but we headed down to the river and found a really great and quite place for the night.
The next day we decided a shower and a comfy bed would be a nice and searched for a guest house - for 220Bhat ($7) we got a private room with a bathroom in a funky guest house called Adchara Mansion.
