Week 7
With the new year, comes new adventure!
Some of you may know already, that we started a new journey in 2018 - cycling from China through towards Indonesia.
We set out to cycle from Southern China, through Northern Laos, and we are now in Northern Thailand. Where we reunited after a month apart - Maddy in UK and Reggie cycling through Central Laos/Thailand.
We spent a week in a small town called Pai, where we have been living in a simple bamboo bungalow ('Sleepy Hut' for just a 5£/7$ per night or KK Hut) and we’ve been enjoying the local food that’s off the tourist streets.
Valentines day with Valentines day Cakes!
We’ve seen waterfalls, canyons, temples, monasteries and beautiful sunsets and sunrises, taking in all the culture and nature Pai has to offer.
We have also met some great people while here, including Frank Tank - Emma and Rob - who are overlanding in their Range Rover 1968 from Australia back to Europe, and bumping into one of Reggie’s college friends - Salvijus - and the group of Lithuanians he was traveling with.
We have enjoyed our time in Pai very much...
Vibes of pai... avoiding the whole backpacking, drinking and partying scene.
Street FOOD WAS GREAT AND CHEAP - around 90p/1.25USD for a meal that always filled us up!
"Pad Thai" for Maddy and Fried noodles with broccoli and pork for Reggie.
And some Yoga in the Mornings
...but now we will move on - heading to Chiang Mai.
This is the road Reggie cycled back from Pai to Chiang Mai.
